Good Plants™ Almondmilk Probiotic Yogurt Alternative
I recently discovered Good Plants™—and I am obsessed! Good Plants™ is a delicious probiotic yogurt alternative that’s made with almondmilk, and is dairy-free and vegan certified! This was an exciting find for us because we eat mostly dairy-free in our house due to my husband’s food allergies.
What makes Good Plants™ so unique is that it has 40% fewer calories and 70% less sugar per container than most almondmilk yogurt alternatives*, so it’s a great option if you’re looking for dairy-free foods (like us) without as much sugar or calories! Also, at 8g of dietary fiber per 5.3 oz serving, it’s an excellent source of fiber, too!
Oh, and did I mention it tastes amazing?! It’s deliciously smooth and creamy, with just the right amount of sweetness. The Good Plants™ line is currently available at select retailers. To learn more and find Good Plants™ by you, head here.
Vegan Frozen Granola Bites
Guys, these tasty little treats are MEGA delicious. Trust me.
I started making a variation of these little snacks a few years ago (minus the awesome Good Plants™ almondmilk probiotic yogurt alternative), and I’ve found them to be a great snack for that strange time in between lunch and dinner. You know that time when you reach for a bag of potato chips or sweets? Yep. I know that time of day very well, and these have been a fantastic alternative!
The best part? They take only three ingredients and can be made in less than 10 minutes! High five! Also, they store wonderfully in the freezer. That means you can have your secret stash ready to go when you need a little something sweet during your busy day!
How to Make Vegan Frozen Granola Bites
Let’s get down to business. For these tasty snacks, you will need:
- Mini muffin pan (you can also use regular muffin tins, but I love using the mini’s for “bite sized” pre-portioned snacks)
- Mini muffin liners (easily found at your local grocery store)
- Granola (for a fast and simple method you can use your favorite store-bought granola. However, if you are feeling more ambitious, I absolutely LOVE this homemade granola recipe! It’s super easy, plus vegan, gluten and refined sugar-free!
- Favorite flavor of Good Plants™ almondmilk probiotic yogurt alternative (I used strawberry and chocolate, and they were delicious! They also currently have Vanilla and Lemon Meringue, and more flavors are sure to be coming soon.)
- Berries of choice (I used a combo of blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and strawberries. You definitely do not need to use as many varieties if you don’t have them on hand, and you can also use frozen!)
Here’s how this magic happens:
First, place a mini muffin liner in each of your muffin cups and fill each liner about 1/3 of the way full with your granola of choice. Again, you can use store-bought granola for a fast and easy approach or you can make your favorite homemade granola. I used this Coconut Pecan Homemade Granola (vegan, gluten and refined-sugar free). It is so good that it should be illegal.
Next, using a small spoon, top each of the cups of granola with your favorite flavor of Good Plants™ almondmilk probiotic yogurt alternative. Make sure to fill them to just below the top, so that you have room to top with fresh berries.
And last but not least, place 1-3 berries (depending on their size) on top of each Frozen Granola Bite. Make sure the berries are dry so that there’s not to extra liquid or it will make the yogurt alternative runny and more icy than creamy.
Then, just pop the tray in the freezer for a good 2-3 hours (or overnight) and you’re done! That’s it folks. Easy peasy, right?
Tips for Making Vegan Frozen Granola Bites
- Use a very small spoon to fill the mini muffin cups to prevent the yogurt from dripping over the sides of the mini muffin liners.
- After topping the granola with Good Plants™almondmilk probiotic yogurt alternative, gently rap the mini muffin tin on the counter to help release any air bubbles.
- Don’t overfill the mold; remember that the yogurt will expand a bit as it freezes, plus you are going to add berries on the top.
- Give the Vegan Frozen Granola Bites plenty of time to freeze before you remove them from the molds – at least 2-3 hours or overnight.
- To remove neatly from the molds, lay a clean towel on the counter, tip the muffin tin upside down at about a 45 degree angle, tap the side (long edge) firmly on the towel, and they should fall out.
Thank you Vegan Frozen Granola Bites for making our afternoon snack so delicious!
