These Patriotic Sprinkle Dipped Waffle Cones are the perfect, easy treat for your 4th of July celebration!
The 4th of July is easily one of my favorite holidays! Lazy summer days relaxing by the pool with friends and family, the smell of corn and burgers grilling on the BBQ, watching a dazzling display of fireworks light up the sky at night, I mean what’s not to love?
Now I can get pretty fancy with some of my food and desserts for certain holidays, but the 4th of July is NOT one of those. To me, it’s all about simplicity and spending time with family. Really, I go as low key as I can for this holiday and I absolutely LOVE it!!
Patriotic Sprinkle Dipped Waffle Cones
So what’s easier that an ice cream cone… dipped in white chocolate… and sprinkles??
Nothing! That’s the answer. Seriously, these are the easiest treats I’ve ever thrown together and nope, I don’t even feel guilty about. Smirking face.
Why? Because the kids absolutely adore them and beg me to make them every year! They love to help dip the cones in the white chocolate and toss the sprinkles all over them (and the floor). And I love watching how happy they are helping me make this easy 4th of July treat! Plus, I there aren’t many desserts more patriotic and refreshing than a good old fashioned vanilla ice cream cone. With sprinkles of course.
Speaking of sprinkles, isn’t this Old Glory II Sprinkle Mix by Sprinkle Pop just awesome? Perfect 4th of July colors, or really any patriotic holiday for that matter. I just love the pop of gold from the gold degree sprinkles, they are so pretty!
So do yourself a favor and make these next week. I promise you and your family will love you for it.

Ingredients
- 12 waffle cones
- 1 10oz. bag Ghirardelli white chocolate melting wafers
- 8 oz. Old Glory II Sprinkle Pop Mix
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a small, microwave safe glass bowl, melt the chocolate in 30 second bursts, stirring well in between to melt the chocolate and prevent burning.
- Dip the waffle cones into the bowl of chocolate, rotating to achieve desired look and to cover 1-2 inches of the top of the cones.
- Pull the cone out of the bowl, and hold it upside down to let the excess chocolate drip off (gently shaking excess off if necessary).
- Hold the cone over an new empty bowl or plate and slowly pour sprinkles over the top while rotating the cone to cover all areas of the chocolate. Use your fingers to pick up excess sprinkles from the bowl and press them into the chocolate.
- Place the dipped cones upside down on the parchment lined baking sheet to let the chocolate and sprinkles harden.
- Once hardened, fill with scoops of your favorite ice cream and enjoy!

My husband and I were just talking about how we were never allowed to have these fun, dipped cones as kid (too messy I guess), but that we were determined to right the wrongs of our past someday soon. Maybe with these beauties!
