I’m so into these easy no-bake chocolate protein energy bites right now! Frankly, they are just dang delicious. Plus, they are SUPER easy and perfect for a quick healthy snack to curb your sweet tooth without the guilt. I often grab one on the way out the door with a banana for a quick, healthy breakfast. And the best part, my kids love them! Seriously they eat them up like candy. And while let’s face it, they are not low calorie (cause nothing with peanut butter in it is low calorie!!) they are definitely packed with only healthy ingredients and are a great way to get some amazing nutrition into you and your families diet!
These little balls of healthy deliciousness are packed with oats, peanut butter, almonds, honey, protein powder (optional) toasted coconut, ground flax seeds, chia seeds and a new favorite of mine – Barlean’s Chocolate Silk Greens Powder. I was recently introduced to Barlean’s wonderful natural product line aaaaaaand I may be addicted. They are a family owned and operated company and a leader in the natural foods industry, providing products such as: Flax Oils, Fish Oils, Omega Swirls, Super Seeds, Coconut Oil, Powdered Greens and much more!
Today I’m featuring their Chocolate Silk Greens Powder, in honor of #choctoberfest, and I have to say it is amazing! This delicious superfood is loaded with antioxidants from fair-trade cocoa and nutrients from more than a dozen fruits and veggies. It’s also Non-GMO, Gluten Free, Soy Free, Vegan, and contains natural plant fiber from chicory and flaxseed. Wow. Almost too good to be true! Yet, even better it tastes deee-vine! You can shake it up in your favorite milk for just some plain old good chocolate milk with a healthy punch, or add it to smoothies, breakfast bowls, you name it! I thought it would be perfect in these energy bites and boy was I right!
My favorite part about these Chocolate Protein Energy Bites is that they are so easy and you can just mix everything together in one bowl! I love to make them on Sunday and then keep them in a Tupperware in the fridge and grab one on occasion throughout the week when I need a quick healthy snack. They literally taste like cookie dough and my kids probably prefer these to actual cookies, and I don’t even feel guilty giving it to them! Plus, by adding Barleans Chocolate Silk Greens, I’m sneaking some awesome fruits and veggies into their diet and they don’t even know it! Fist bump.

I wish I saw this a couple months ago! I was looking for energy bites with no peanut butter and didn’t have to be refrigerated for my daughter when she was in track . Her friend who was in track with her had a severe peanut allergy so we wanted something safe to eat around them as well. I will be making these for myself too for on the trail :) And she will be in track next year too, so this will be perfect!
Hi Dawn, these energy bites do have peanut butter in them! Sorry! An idea to replace the PB though is using a combo of sunflower seeds and pitted dates ground up into a paste in your food processor though :) Best of luck!
Haha! I must have needed more coffee (or a trip to the eye doctor) because I saw the almonds and coconut but didn’t see the peanut butter! I could definitely substitute tho. I wonder if almond butter would work or do you think it would not be the right texture? He can have other nuts just not peanuts. This is especially difficult when he comes over since I eat a lot of peanut butter and I feed it to my dog too as a treat.
I am not sure if my daughter would like dates.
Oh I’m sure almond butter would work! I just recommended dates and some type of seed for completely nut free :) The nice thing about the dates is that if you blend them up into a paste in the food processor, they will just sweeten your energy bites and help hold them together, no one will ever know they are in there! ;)
